‘Dragon Ball Super’ Spoiler Details Gohan's Fight With Toppo

Image
Dragon Ball fans may be focused on Jiren these days, but there is another Universe 11 fighter you should be watching. Toppo is poised to make a comeback on Dragon Ball Super , and it seems Gohan will bear the brunt of it. This week, Weekly Shonen Jump is poised to share a synopsis for the anime’s 123rd episode. Apparent scans of the blurb have since gone live online, and translators were quick to turn around the intriguing text. So, you can check out the spoiler-friendly summary of the upcoming episode below: “Gohan This Week: can he attack No. 17 along with the enemy?! No. 17 uses his whole body to paralyze Toppo, and orders Gohan to defeat them both. However, Gohan hesitates and loses the chance to defeat Toppo, but…” As you can see, Gohan is going to find himself fighting both Jiren and himself when his battle gets underway. Not only is the Pride Trooper a physically formidable opponent, but Gohan will war with his morals when Android 17 makes a surprising p

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Just Spoil a New Goku Power-Up?

Image
Goku has more than a few forms when you count them all up. The hero’s Super Saiyan states are enough to trip up audiences, but Goku could be coming up on yet another form. New spoilers for the franchise just hit, and they have got Goku fans scratching their heads. This week, Weekly Shonen Jump will release a new synopsis for Dragon Ball Super . Scans of the blurb seem to have hit the Internet early, and the description of episode 123 teases a new Super Saiyan Blue evolution. “Goku is finally at full power! He transforms into Super Saiyan Blue,” the spoiler reveals. “Goku finally challenges Jiren! For this final battle, he transforms into full power Super Saiyan Blue!” The note about Super Saiyan Blue Goku tapping into the form's full power is what caught everyone’s attention. In the manga, the mentioned state has already introduced, but it has never made it to the anime. Dragon Ball Super showed fans the power-up in the chapter “Son Goku’s E

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Spoiler Confirms One Crushing Defeat

Image
There’s a saying which says you cannot win them all, but that has never stopped Dragon Ball ’s stars from trying. When put in a corner, guys like Goku tend to make a comeback, but the same cannot be said for one Saiyan on Dragon Ball Super . After all, a set of spoilers for the anime just confirmed Vegeta is about to get bounced by Jiren. Earlier today, new synopses for Dragon Ball Super went live in Japan thanks to Animedia. The magazine released the first summary of episode 123, and the blurb confirms Vegeta will fail to take down the Tournament of Power’s strongest fighter. “Vegeta puts forth his full power to battle Universe 11's Jiren, but utterly fails to defeat him. Instead, Vegeta is seriously injured and in dire straits,” the magazine reveals. Fans already knew that Vegeta was going to challenge Jiren, but they did not know how the ordeal would go down. Episode 122 will see the Saiyan throw down the gauntlet before the Pride Trooper, and f

New ‘Dragon Ball Super’ Spoilers Seem to Tease a Major Universe 7 Elimination

Vegeta fans will never give up when it comes to the Saiyan. So far, Dragon Ball Super has made it clear that Goku is its main focus, but plenty is holding out for a Vegeta comeback. The anime’s next episode seems to be heading in that direction, but the hype won’t last for long. After all, a new set of Dragon Ball Super spoilers confirmed Vegeta is about to be in a world of hurt. Over in Japan, new titles and synopses for the anime went live in Animedia, and fans are a bit nervous about them. Episode 122 is poised to see Vegeta go off against Jiren, but Dragon Ball Super will not see the Saiyan walk away victorious. Instead, it looks like Vegeta is about to get his power levels handed to him. The synopsis for episode 123 confirms that Vegeta’s full power will have no effect on Jiren. “Vegeta puts forth his full power to battle Universe 11’s Jiren, but utterly fails to defeat him,” Animedia reveals. “Instead, Vegeta is seriously injured and in dire straits.” The

'Dragon Ball Super' Just Revealed How Much Stronger Jiren Can Get

Image
Dragon Ball Super is quickly approaching the finale of its Tournament of Power arc, with just Goku's Universe 7 team left standing against the formidable threat of Jiren and the Universe 11 Pride Troopers. After the display of power from Jiren during the halfway point of the tournament, fans have been wondering just how powerful the enigmatic fighter really could be. Well, thanks to the latest synopses for upcoming episodes of DBS , we now have a much better scale for Jiren's true power! According to the Animedia summary for the upcoming episode 124: "Goku and Vegeta challenge Jiren together, but even teamed up their attacks have hardly any effect. Instead, Jiren seems to be raising his battle power even higher. Meanwhile, Universe 7's Son Gohan goes to help out Freeza as he battles Universe 11's Dyspo." If you've been wondering what the limit of Jiren's power is, then you have a new answer to ponder: it's above the co

Here Are ‘Dragon Ball’s Most Recent Easter Eggs In One Image

Image
Dragon Ball Super isn’t afraid of dropping a good easter egg, and the show has proved that as of late. Recently, the series has tipped its hats to all sorts of anime throwbacks, and one fan has collected (almost) all of them into a single image. Over on Reddit, user Hidden Cloud CEO took one for the team and laid out all of Dragon Ball ’s most recent easter eggs. The full image, which can be seen here, helps connect Akira Toriyama’s latest project with classic series like Sailor Moon, Naruto , and more. Of course, Dragon Ball Super tapped into Toriyama’s past works for easter eggs. Fans could not miss the similarities between Kale and Broly thanks to the pair’s identical Super Saiyan forms. Other fighters from the Dragon Ball franchise also came in clutch as they inspired new fighters who signed up for the Tournament of Power. As Roshi mentioned, Dragon Ball Super also nodded back to its original anime in a recent episode. An invisible fighter was pitted against Univer

Android 17 Just Had His Best Episode of 'Dragon Ball Super' Yet

Image
Android 17 has had his fair share of huge moments in Dragon Ball Super 's Tournament of Power so far, but his latest move in the fight with Aniraza has led to his best episode of the series yet. Ever since he was reintroduced into the series, fans of Android 17 have been treated to an increasingly impressive string of scenes but he truly impressed fans when he jumped straight through Aniraza's giant explosive blast and punched Aniraza right in the face. Universe 3's full fusion of Aniraza proved a massive threat to Universe 7 with the ability to locate them through ultrasonic waves, use warp holes to hit them anywhere in the arena with its punches, and its energy blasts easily overwhelmed many of the attacks from Universe 7's fighters. This even led to the elimination of Android 18, as she saved Android 17 from being eliminated. After seeing Android 18 be eliminated, this caused 17 to fight even harder than before. Arguably before this point, he's kind o

How Involved Will Toriyama Be With 'Dragon Ball's New Movie?

Image
The next film in the Dragon Ball franchise is definitely hotly anticipated by series fans next year, and fans have been wondering whether or not series creator Akira Toriyama would be as involved with the new film as he was in the previous two films. As the next Dragon Ball film is the 20th in the franchise's history, and aims to be the best in the series' history, it only makes sense that original creator Akira Toriyama will be handling a lot of its production duties. From a statement from Toei Animation, there is confirmation that Akira Toriyama is indeed in charge of the "original work, script, and character designs." Clarifying what Toei's statement of "original work" means, Twitter user @Herms98 explains that "original work" is the "standard credit [Toriyama] gets on all Dragon Ball product, as the creator of Dragon Ball. The script and character designs he's doing for the movie are new, but 'original work'

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Shows Android 17 Paying A Debt

Image
If you are caught up with Dragon Ball Super anime, then you know Android 17 has been all over it. The former villain made a comeback for the Tournament of Power, but fans wanted to know what all compelled 17 to make his return. Now, a brand-new manga chapter has confirmed the fighter threw in his support to pay a debt. Recently, Viz Media pushed its translation of Dragon Ball Super 's 31st chapter live for fans. The free update follows Goku as the Saiyan recruits Tournament of Power fighters, and he heads off to find Android 17. When the pair meet face-to-face, Goku tries to convince the other man to join in, but there is only one thing that makes 17 budge.  Apparently, that thing happens to be Krillin. When money doesn’t grab 17, Goku says the android could join to see his sister Android 18 and her husband. The heroine married Krillin after Cell was blown to pieces, and Goku’s mention of Krillin makes 17 pause. The manga then goes into a flashback of when the man was r

Dragon Ball Super’ Revisited The Cell Games In A Surprising Way

Image
Dragon Ball Super isn’t afraid to pay respects to its past, but fans did not expect the series to bring back the ’Cell Games’ saga. Its latest manga release kicked off by reintroducing Cell to everyone, but the moment was not retold quite how you remember it. The 31st chapter of Dragon Ball Super began with a curious kick-off. A cell was shown huffing against Hercules as the pair battled, and the martial artist was seen taking the android out. The recreation was done for a TV special within Dragon Ball which honored the ten-year anniversary of Cell’s arrival.  “And that’s how our world was saved by Hercules,” a reporter told everyone before interviewing Hercules for the special. “Then the most peculiar thing happened to our planet. The people who were thought to have been killed by Cell came back to life.” After a moment, Hercules answered, saying, “Superheroes make miracles happen. That was just another of the many miracles performed!” Android 18 turned the TV off af

'Dragon Ball Super' Shares Jiren Character Designs

Image
Jiren is undoubtedly the most popular addition to the Dragon Ball Super franchise during its Tournament of Power, and that is definitely due in part to his design. Series creator Akira Toriyama and illustrator Toyotaro came to Jump Festa 2018 with a lot of Dragon Ball news (including the massive news that a new Dragon Ball film is coming next year), and also plenty of sketches and design documents:  "Be careful not to make Jiren too fat"  Along with a clearer picture of Ultra Instinct Goku, we also got a clearer picture at Jiren. There's a hilarious note fans wouldn't expect to see either. Toriyama notes that the anime should be sure "Not to make Jiren too fat." This has prompted fans to joke about Jiren's design as well noting that he's been a bit fat in the anime and one fan even went on to mention that Jiren has a smaller lower body than his upper. If you are not familiar with Jiren, there's still time to get to know the fight

'Dragon Ball Super' Just Leak A Freeza Fusion?

Image
Dragon Ball Super is gearing up for its next anime release, but fans think they have reason to fear for Freeza this weekend. Tomorrow, the anime will drop its newest episode, but Jump Festa helped hype fans for the release not long ago. A new image of the franchise's next fusion went live, and some fans are thinking it proves Freeza is about to get assimilated. Obviously, word is out on whether the merge was a consensual one or not. As you can see below, a brand-new image of Universe 3's special weapon has hit the Internet. The clearer picture shows Aniraza in all its merged glory, but fans cannot help but notice how similar the character looks to - well - Freeza. Aniraza is said to be the last-resort weapon for Universe 3, and the character will make its tentative debut this weekend. The fusion is said to be created from three of Universe 3's warriors, but synopses have hinted Aniraza will really go wild when a fourth gets added in. Just looking a

'Dragon Ball' Announces New Movie For 2018

Image
It's official! After a slew of rumors hit the Internet about Dragon Ball's future, Jump Festa confirmed they were true. The event just revealed that a brand-new Dragon Ball film will be released in 2018 to honor the franchise's latest anniversary. Just moment ago, official placards from Toei Animation confirmed Dragon Ball will be getting a new film. So far, there is little known about its story, but fans do know a bit. As you can see below, one of the placards confirms the 2018 feature will be focused on the Saiyans and have lots of characters. You can read its official translation below: "The story is already finished Historical number of characters The keyword is Saiyan"   ドラゴンボール新作映画きた! pic.twitter.com/AMERvhZRQn If the description is right, then fans will get to learn a lot more about the Saiyan race soon enough. The 2018 feature will be geared around the warrior race, so fans will see characters beyond just Goku and Vegeta. The

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Chapter Brings Back Cell

Image
Dragon Ball has never had a shortage of villains. Guys like Freeza and Majin Buu are classic baddies who cannot stay away. While the latter has stuck around through Mr. Buu, Freeza likes to come and rile Goku up. Cell, on the other hand, has yet to make a big comeback. So, you can understand why Dragon Ball freaked fans out with its newest chapter.  Over in Japan, the 31st chapter of Dragon Ball Super has gone live, and its first page had fans doing a double-take. As you can see below, fans have shared the chapter’s start online, and it shows Cell facing off with an immensely powerful fighter. The new DBS chapter ("Super Warriors Assemble!") starts with Mister Satan vs Cell, reimagined. Cell's dialogue is recycled from when Gohan starts beating him up in the manga (ch.410, DBZ ch.216 in Viz). According to fan translators like Hems98, Cell’s comeback makes total sense. So, no - the villain has not been revived or folded into the ‘Universal Survival’ sag

'Dragon Ball Super' Final Episodes for 2017 Hint at a Fusion That Will End All Fusions

Image
The final episodes of "Dragon Ball Super" for the year will see Universe 7 get the upper hand in the ongoing Tournament of Power. While the previous episode saw Goku and company lose Piccolo, who accidentally fell from the arena because of the invisible Gamisaras and the insectoid Damon, the team managed to defeat them, resulting in the destruction of Universe 4. Now, only three universes are left in the tournament and in "Dragon Ball Super" episode 120, the fighters of Universe 3 begin their bid. Universe 7 has proven itself to be quite redoubtable and the same can be said for Universe 11 (Jiren alone would take any universe an army to take down) so the Universe 3 will have to bring out their big guns in order to survive — and they would. The synopsis for the installment titled "A Perfect Survival Strategy! Universe 3's Menacing Assassins!!" teases that the third universe, like the others, will take everyone by surprise. They have a

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Leak Teases Ultra Instinct's Evolution

Image
If there’s one thing Dragon Ball fans are ready for, it is to see Ultra Instinct return. The form has been the highlight of the Tournament of Power for many, but Goku has had trouble summoning its power at will. Now, a new leak for Dragon Ball Super is out, and it seems to tease a new form of the power-up. Over online, vetted sleuths within the Dragon Ball fandom found a surprising leak in the series. A rarely seen source dropped a provisional title for Dragon Ball Super ’s 124th episode which translators like @Herms98 turned around. The release, which will go live on January 14, has a telling name - so here’s your last chance to look away! According to Dragon Ball Super ’s new drop, the upcoming episode will be called “Full Body, Spirit, and Power Unleashed!” For fans, the episode title is a juicy one considering the name of episode 122. When January 7 rolls around, Dragon Ball Super will debut an episode called “Staking His Pride! Vegeta Challenges the Strongest!

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Preview Puts Gohan In The Spotlight

Image
It looks like Dragon Ball Super will do its best to get Gohan fans hyped next week. The anime has dropped a preview for its next episode, and Goku’s eldest son will be put in the spotlight as he challenges Universe 3.  This weekend, fans watched as Dragon Ball Super parted ways with someone Gohan did not see coming. Piccolo was suddenly taken out of the Tournament of Power thanks to Universe 4. The Namekian was ringed out by a mystery fighter with strange Ki, so Gohan is left to fight without his favorite tag-team partner. So, when Universe 3 comes knocking at Gohan’s door, the Saiyan will be ready to answer. “Universe 3’s warriors reveal their trump card. Three of them unite into one?! With their unbelievably powerful attacks, we’re in deep trouble,” Gohan says in Dragon Ball Super ’s new preview. The clip, which can be seen above, shows Gohan as he powers up against Universe 3 and its robotic fighters - but the hero will make sure no one else gets in his way. “

'Dragon Ball Super' Eliminated Everyone's Favorite Gag Man

Image
Universe 4 may have been the most recent mass elimination in the Tournament of Power, but one member of Universe 3 left a huge impression on fans thanks to his hilarious moments throughout the tournament. Vegeta, still carrying the rage he felt over Universe 6's erasure, had continued to fight Katopesla from the previous episodes. But before Katopesla's eliminated for good, he gives Vegeta a hilarious run for his money. After trading blows with Katopesla, Vegeta gets even more enraged as Katopesla enters his "ultimate mode," a purple version of the transformations he's had in the rest of the tournament.  Before he can explain what the new form can do (just as he's done with his enhanced speed and power modes) Vegeta attacks him mid-sentence, and after trading more blows, Katopesla launches his final attack, "The Final Mission." Vegeta decides to counter it with his trademarked Final Flash and overwhelms the Universe 3 foe. Katopesla man

‘Dragon Ball Super’ Will Soon See [SPOILER] Fight For Their Life

Image
Dragon Ball Super is nearing the climax of its current saga. Universes 2 and 6 were just wiped from existence on the anime, and Universe 7 may get hit with some karma over the loss. Thanks to new synopses, fans know that Android 18 is about to have a hard time in the anime’s next episode. “ Vegeta and Gohan are attacked by something they can't see, and nearly fall from the arena too. This something, which can be neither seen nor have its ki sensed, also surprise-attacks No. 18 ,” the new synopsis reads. “It turns out to be Universe 4's invisible person Gamisaras, but No. 18 is not sure how to fight this invisible enemy.” Fans of the android were already nervous for the anime’s new episode thanks to its preview. The reel showed Android 18 for a short moment, but it was Krillin who got fans upset. The martial artist was shown for a split-second standing up from his seat screaming, and fans knew Krillin would only get that worked up over Android 18.

'Dragon Ball': The First Super Saiyan God's Story Revealed

Image
Dragon Ball Super hasn’t shied away from expanding its franchise’s lore, and fans have been waiting for it to answer one thing in particular. Audiences have long wondered about the real story behind the first Super Saiyan God for a while now. And, thanks to Akira Toriyama, fans have an answer for the persistent question now. “Very long ago, before Planet Vegeta was the Saiyans’ planet, there was a man named Yamoshi4 who had a righteous heart despite being a Saiyan. He and his five comrades started a rebellion, but he was cornered by combatants and became a Super Saiyan for the first time, though his transformation and fearsome fighting style shocked the other Saiyans,” Toriyama said, confirming Yamoshi as the legendary Super Saiyan who was referenced in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods . “Outnumbered, Yamoshi eventually wore himself out and was defeated, but this was only the beginning of his legend. Afterwards, Yamoshi’s spirit wandered in continuous search of six ri

How Can ‘Dragon Ball’ Recover From The Tournament Of Power?

Image
Dragon Ball Super ’s new saga began simply enough, but the ‘Universal Survival’ storyline got real last week. The anime upped its body count real high after the Omni-Kings annihilated both Universe 2 and Universe 6 after they lost at the Tournament of Power. As the show continues, the tournament plans to destroy all but one of its participating universes, but fans want to know how the anime can go on after that happens. He Omni-Kings have a history of destroying universes, but Universe 7 doesn’t seem keen to have its contemporaries stay erased. Even Vegeta has said he plans to bring back Universe 6 when - not if - he becomes the tournament’s MVP. With millions of lives on the line, Dragon Ball fans are trying to figure out how the franchise will retcon the destruction of these universes. The fandom has conjured up three ways for Dragon Ball Super to undo the damage  You can read up on them below: Revival The most straightforward way for Dragon Ball Super to bring ba

Goku's Impending Ultra Instinct Woes

Image
Dragon Ball Super is all-in on its latest form for Goku, but that does not mean the Saiyan will have an easy time mastering the form. The anime just gave fans a staunch reminder of how difficult Ultra Instinct is to manage, and it has audiences think Goku is in for some trouble down the road. In the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super , fans watched as Goku went up against the remainder of Universe 2 once Ribrianne was eliminated. The fighter, who teamed up with Androids 17 and 18, was put through the ringer as he was eventually trapped in a big black hole. Goku was able to escape the attack by going Super Saiyan Blue, but Freeza wondered afterwards what kept Goku from using Ultra Instinct. However, Whis was kind enough to answer that question for fans. “Exposure to repeated extreme conditions can lead to acclimation,” the angel said. “The bar may be getting raised on his opportunity to break his own shell.” It isn’t surprising to hear th

Here's What Ultra Instinct Gohan Could Look Like in 'Dragon Ball Super'

Image
One fan took to Twitter to theorize how Gohan would look in Ultra Instinct, and the results are definitely worth seeing. I get Ultra Instinct. You get Ultra Instinct. Even Gohan learns how to DODGE and gets the most Ultra of Instinct!  Twitter user @MastarMedia uploaded this image of an Ultra Instinct Gohan with the following hilarious line, "I get Ultra Instinct. You get Ultra Instinct. Even Gohan learns to DODGE and gets the most of Ultra Instinct." After seeing Gohan at his most powerful yet in the Tournament of Power, it's not hard to imagine Gohan reaching the state as well. Fans had been waiting to see Gohan return to the kind of strength he showed in his prime back in Dragon Ball Z, and thanks to Universe 6 he was finally pushed to that point. Piccolo had been suffering mentally against the Universe 6's Namekians Pirina and Saonel after finding out they were the result of a mass Namekian fusion, so Gohan instead took the lead in the battle an

'Dragon Ball Super' Reveals the Reason Behind Goku's Ultra Instinct Troubles

Image
After trigging Ultra Instinct not once, but twice so far in the Tournament of Power, fans have been anxious to see Goku in the state again. But after a new revelation in the latest episode of Dragon Ball Super, activating it a third time is not going to be so easy. Fending off the love-filled attacks of the remaining Universe 2 fighters with the help of Android 17 and 18, Goku only goes as far as Super Saiyan Blue and it might be because he's getting adjusted to the constant pressure of the competition. After knocking away Sirloin and co.'s final attack, Pretty Black Hole, an attack that put an incredible amount of gravity pressure on Goku, Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and knocks them out of the ring with a Kamehameha Wave. Soon after their elimination from the tournament, Freeza is shown to be watching from afar. While Freeza is glad Goku was able to win - most likely so he could use Goku as a pawn later in the tournament for some nefarious plot -

'Dragon Ball Super' spoilers: Tragic eliminations ahead as Universe 6 gets the boot

Image
Spoilers for episode 119 of "Dragon Ball Super" reveal that there will be some fierce battles and painful eliminations ahead. With only 15 minutes remaining in the Tournament of Power, who will come out victorious? Even though there are only 15 minutes left, the tournament could still last a while based on the five-minute battle between Goku and Frieza on the planet Namek. Fans knew that Universe 2 was going to be erased, but it seems like another universe is about to receive the same fate. According to the synopsis from the upcoming issue of "Weekly Shonen Jump," it seems that Champa and his team will be eliminated. The  episode 119 of "Dragon Ball Super" is as follows: "With the annihilation of Universe 6, the Tournament of Power has entered its final stage! Universe 4 now begins a surprise attack against Universe 7! How will Goku and co. face this invisble enemy?!" After much speculation, it is now confirmed that Un

Akira Toriyama Reveals The Secret Behind Dragon Ball's Super Saiyans

Image
In a recent interview, Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama revealed that for Saiyans to become powerful Super Saiyans, they need to have enough S-Cells. Dragon Ball fans are already comparing this revelation to midi-chlorians . When asked if anyone who trains enough can become a Super Saiyan, Toriyama replied (via @ Herms98 ), “It’s not like anyone can become a Super Saiyan through training and anger. In order to become a Super Saiyan, one’s body must contain something called ‘S-Cells.’” Toriyama explained that once these S-Cells reach a certain amount, anger can trigger a massive increase in S-Cells, causing a physical change. That, he says, is Super Saiyan. “Most Saiyans have some S-Cells, although not a great quantity,” Toriyama continued (via @ Herms98 ). Thus, one of the reasons why Goku and Vegeta’s kids became Super Saiyans is that they inherited these cells. They have the genetic makeup to become Super Saiyan.  This means that no matter how hard you train or how a
